Hunh. 56 stitches in sport weight on US3/3.25mm needles, I just knew this sock would be HUGE.
But have a look!
I'm shocked. I guess gauge swatches don't always lie, after all. :)
And here's a preview of some Christmas knitting, hand-dyed custom for me by Myra of Fancy Image Yarn. I used her UW Husky sock for my dad's birthday socks last year and loved it, so when I needed some sport-weight super-soft yarn for some hats I have in my head, I went straight to her website. I was looking for chocolate and Tiffany blue (and a mixture of both), and I couldn't be happier! I can't wait to start on the hat.

Whatever you do with that yarn, I wanna see! What beautiful colors. It's such a lovely picture just to look at. The sock looks fabulous too! Nice job.

I love those colors, too! In fact, I decorated my son's nursery in them. Can't wait to see the hats. :)

Awww, that sockie is absolutely fantastic! What a very beautiful pattern, and I love the color - and it seems to fit perfectly indeed!
This new yarn that you got - ahhh, I adore the colors! I'm so into all shades of blue these days that just looking at this pic was a feast for my eyes!

Nice sock! glad it fits. I worry about 80 stitches on fingering weight... but you know, I recently made one, I think it had 80 sts, and it had a similar cable (all over, in a rib), and it was TOO SMALL! I couldn't get it over my heel. So I ripped it back to the top of the heel and may make some fingerless mitts from it, because it is bearfoot and wicked nice!
