Change of plans

Okay. First things first. The Foxy River Rapids Socks are no more. The yarn was way too busy for the pattern. I just couldn't go on in good conscience. Besides that, I was leaving for the weekend and I had to make my mind up fast. Out they went!

Let me now present to you, the... NotFoxy?... Boring?... Patternyoucanactuallysee?... Career-oriented?... Classy?... that's it! I now present the Classy River Rapids Socks.

Practically on my way out the door (in actuality it was on my way to bed, since "out the door" occurred at an exceedingly dark time when no sane human should be stirring), I grabbed some Wildfoote solid that I had in my meager solid sock yarn stash and threw it in my bag. I must say, I'm much happier. One down, one to go!

Pretty sock! Yeah, sometimes you just have to listen to what the yarn tells you. It didn't want to be a River Rapids sock. It's going to be something different and even better!

That's a big improvement! While the Foxy Lady will be great for something, it just wasn't suited to river rapids. The solid cream is perfect and I agree, very classy. Great choice!

Well I really love the red sock yarn, but you were right the pattern shows better in a plainer color! Looks great! (you'll find something to do with the other)

very nice :)
i love the first picture though with with big NO symbol, its just pretty funny :)
are you the fastest knitter in the world??

Lovely. The yarn suits the pattern very nicely.

I really like the neutral color for that pattern - very nice!

Gorgeous! Very classy indeed. :)

That pattern is in my queue and I've been thinking of shifting it up. This may have convinced me!

That was some great snap decision making on your part. I agree with your take on the Foxy Lady being too competitive with a complex stitch pattern. The cream works out really well with the River Rapids pattern. It's gorgeous and definitely classy.

Pretty! I really like the classic neutral color - it shows the pattern off really well!

Sometimes that litle voice in the back of your head is right, huh?

Very classy! I'd even consider wearing them to work, and that's saying a lot these days.

Very nice! I'm not much of a one for varigated yarns in busy patterns, so to me this is a vast improvement. The other yarn is lovely, you just have to wait for it to tell you what it wants to be.

Funny, I'm normally much more attracted to the first yarn you chose for the project, but the pattern looks utterly fantastic in the one you ultimately went with. Great choice!
