Just a quick roundup of some projects in the works right now...

First, a modeled shot of SIL's Jaywalkers, and woo hoo, they finally fit!!! Click back here for the details.

Here is the yarn I'm using to make a baby sweater and hat for some friends who are having a baby. Both the dad and the mom went to Purdue (they met there), and this is a boy after having a girl, so I wanted something boyish and sporty. I'm thinking a crew-neck sweater something like this adjusted for gauge, in the tan with a few black stripes across the chest and sleeves. The hat will probably be a basic ribbed one, also with some stripes. Oh, and I might do some cargo pants in black to match, depending on how I'm doing timewise. I consulted the knittyboard about the color, and am glad I did, because it's not what I originally thought would be the right "gold."

And just because it's funny, my mom brought down some old acrylic yarn because C likes to finger knit. Like a whole skein in one long snake. Here's what she brought, which I definitely consider "vintage." The orange one has a Payless sticker on it, which at the time was not the shoe store, but a drugstore in Bellingham, Washington where I grew up. That puts the purchase sometime in the late 70's. As if you couldn't tell by the colors, LOL!

PAM:

Oooh I remember that gold wintuk -- I think I had several things in that color, knit by my grandma, the one who taught me to knit. In fact, toss out the white & add brown, and there's the colors of a granny square vest she crocheted for me in about the fifth grade (that's telling). Thanks for the fun!

I know it is terrible, but I lOVE the look of that old acrylic!
