Any psychics out there?

Okay. Remember that size 1 needle I broke a while ago? At the end of the 9.6-mile walk I took with my 3-day team two Saturdays ago we happened to walk by one of the LYS's in the area, so I stopped in and got a new set.

I finished those Jaywalkers (pictures as soon as I can have my SIL try them on to make sure they really fit this time), and here I am getting ready for the Summer of Socks KAL that starts tomorrow, and I can't find them. I found the remaining four needles from the first set, but my new set of five is nowhere to be found. Why is it not with the rest of my Jaywalker stuff? Yarn leftovers etc. are all still in the bag I kept it in.

???

My first socks for the SOS will be (I think) mini-Monkeys ala Cara, and since the pattern is written for 64 stitches or 16/needle, I don't want to bother with changing it to a three-working-needle configuration. If I don't find them, I'll have to do it magic loop, at least until they show up. I don't like ML as much as DPNs, but I do want to get started tomorrow with the rest of the group, so I'll slog through it. If in the end the Monkey pattern doesn't work with the yarn, I'll switch to Broadripple.

I'll be using US1 needles instead of the called-for US2, in the hopes of knitting a sock that will actually fit me. So far, they've all turned out too big. You'd think I'd have learned by now, huh? In actuality, I've only knit three for myself, and they were only slightly too big, but still. I'm hoping the summer of socks will be the summer I finally figure out how many stitches I need for my own dang foot.

For any of you who want to take a stab at envisioning my needles, I normally knit on our blue denim couch in our upstairs TV room. I've looked through my needle bag, in all of my project WIP bags, under the cushions, under and next to the couch, and under the coffee table. I've looked all around my computer which is at the top of the stairs.

Thanks!

JulieT:

I'm getting it snagged on soemthing brown that looks like the lining of a bag. Or maybe the underside of a couch.

Don't hold your breath on this, my accuracy rate isn't that good.

Good luck finding it.

lisa:

I lost a crochet hook (that I used only to pick up lost knit stitches) that way...it re-appeared about 6 months later. It was stuck up in the chair's mechanism or something...so, yeah, I'd check your bag linings, flip the couch over, really dig under the cushion and into the couch... (I knit fingering socks on 1's...like them better that way)
