Sparkle is done, at least as done as she's going to be for this weekend's wedding, which MIL is attending in Rhode Island. At some later date, I'll knit edging for the sleeves in the Tilli Thomas (although the pattern doesn't call for this), MIL thought she would like it with more of the sparkle. And we have plenty of that yarn left over. But no time to do that tonight. All of the ends aren't woven in, MIL is going to do that on the plane. I sewed on the edging last night, and she just picked it up a few minutes ago. No time to spare!
Here's a cruddy, throw-it-unceremoniously-on-the-ottoman night/inside/flash shot of it, right as she was about to leave to go pack. I have already requested a modeled shot of it at the wedding:
And a (mostly in focus) closeup of the center, showing both yarns:
Pattern: Sparkle Bolero, from RYC Classic Style
Yarn: ggh Mystik, with Tilli Thomas Disco Lights for the edging.
Gauge/needles: I knit to match MIL's gauge. I did the sleeves and edging, she did the back, and another friend did the fronts. They both used US6, I used US5.
Modifications: 3/4 sleeves instead of full-length sleeves; straight edging instead of increasing to make a collar; edging done in a contrasting yarn; edging will be added to the bottoms of the sleeves.
Phew!
