We interrupt this Jaywalker re-knitting...

...to bring you yet another WIP avoidance quickie!

This Knitpicks Merino Style was frogged from some Thujas for M that were turning out too big. I wasn't so keen on having hand-wash socks for him anyway, so I wasn't too upset about it. The yarn is super soft, and I wanted take advantage of that, but what to knit? I've had it in the stash for a while, looking at patterns. I looked at a lot of scarves, but the color is such that it really wouldn't look good on me that close to my face and hair.

Bottleneck Avenger to the rescue! A perfect use for soft yarn--this is something that you might lay your head on, or (in my case) shove it down the front of your pants in a desperate attempt to relieve cramps. That naked red rubber just doesn't do it for me.

I'm not even going to make a "click for bigger" option, because I screwed up the increases at the bottom, it's not blocked, and my sewing of the seam is crap. But I love knowing that the next time Aunt Flo comes to visit, I'll be ready for some hot-water bottle cuddling!

I bet Merino Style is a great yarn for that - soft, cozy, and a perfect gauge!

Hey thanks for the gingerbread recipe link! I have been thinking to try the cookies again using butter. Maybe I'll try something between the one you sent and the one I have! I think my grandmother's has more baking soda in part because there's at least twice the flour, but with the same amts sugar and fat, a bit more molasses, and extra liquid as hot tea. Science? Art? Both?

Oh, I love these hot water bottle sweaters! They are so cute. :)

Thanks for all your comments! I had to laugh! This is a downfall of livejournal and one of the reasons I want to switch, but since I DID pay for it, I feel like I want to get most of the year out of it. And maybe I'll actually have some time to make the switch over the summer...maybe not! I'm thinking wordpress...
