Here are some new socks! Dublin Bays, in Lorna's Laces Black Purl. This was my first try at magic loop sock knitting, done with Addi Turbo size US1. I liked the method, and had no trouble with it. The socks are a bit loose and tend to sag, so I think I have to find a larger-footed recipient for them. I have finally resigned myself that I knit loosely, and I need to use size 0 needles with sock weight yarn. I'll try these needles on more magic loop socks with fewer stitches, but as much as I hate to think about even more, even tinier stitches, I think I'll like the finished product more if I go down a needle size. Wah.
If I give these away, I'll have to make myself a new pair, because I really like them! I love purple, and this purple, black, and grey/taupe combination is just my style.

Pattern: Dublin Bay Socks, by Ryan Morrisey of Mossy Cottage Knits
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock (80% superwash wool, 20% nylon), in Black Purl
Needles: US1 using magic loop
Gauge: 8.5 sts/inch
Notes: About 8.5" from the top of the cuff to the bottom of the heel flap, and I only used 79g of yarn. Enough left over to make some mini-Dublins for my niece!

I love those socks! The eye of partridge heel is particularly neat, and it does look great in those colors. Black Purl is so pretty.

Nice socks. I like the way the Lorna's striped. I just started a pair of Dublin Bay's, a nice knit.
