Maybe I should be thankful that my older son is almost 7 and this is the first time this has happened...

Let's zoom in and look a little closer, shall we?

Yep, crayon. Two crayons, to be exact. One blue, one red.
Crap.
Here's a particularly colorful sock:

And yep again, not only were two of M's work shirts in the load, but both of C's only two pairs of white baseball pants were in there.

Game tomorrow.
Crap!
I've looked at the Crayola site, consulted Martha Stewart, and have a supply of WD-40, Oxyclean, Tide, and an old toothbrush ready to do some battle. But I don't hold out a ton of hope. I'll try to get at least one of the pairs of baseball pants to look less like bad 80's art for tomorrow's game and deal with the rest tomorrow night. This pile's in time out.
Crappity crap crap crap!!!
ETA: The baseball pants and one of M's business shirts are now clean (or clean enough) with the aid of WD-40, but now does anyone know how to get the WD-40 out? I've washed them three times, and they still smell like WD-40. Ugh, I can't win!
I soaked the rest of the load in super-concentrated Oxyclean overnight, and a lot of it came out. Some scrubbing still needs to be done, but it's much better than it was.

Oh no! It reminds me of the time my boyfriend washed jeans with a tube of lipstick in the pocket. His favorite pair of jeans and some t-shirts (yes, t-shirts with jeans) were ruined. Even though he's the one that did the laundry, he continues to accuse me of trying to ruin his favorite clothes. :)

Don't you know a good chemist or something?? I think you need a good emulsifier (like Dawn dish soap) or a nicer oil-based solvent (lemon oil?) to get teh wd 40 out. Did you try Goo Gone? Or Carbona spot remover? The only reason this hasn't happened here is that we only have cold water piped to the washer! Good luck!
