OMG, I just won the best prize! I won a contest over at pieknits when Jennifer asked for class ideas for her new position as VP/Education Chair of her knitters' guild. She said the prize would be yarn, but check out what she sent!!!

But also in there is some fantastic-smelling mango hand cream, a candle that looks absolutely perfect in my living room atop the piano, and COOKIES! Not just cookies, but oatmeal and M&M cookies. It has to have been pure guess on her part, but these are among my favorite cookies of all time. Chocolate and oatmeal just go so well together in a cookie. I think these might have peanut butter in them, too. Needless to say, there are a few missing from that plate in the picture there!

Wow! That's a great pile of winnings! My bag 'pattern' is basically an upside down version of the hats I used to make out of polarfleece. circumference=diameter times pi. For the bag, I just made two, one is the liner. I put the pocket onto the inside walls (circumference) before sewing it to the circle. I cit the walls about 2 inches taller than I wanted so (at least in the most recent version) I could fold it over twice. For the two strap bag, I cut the walls of the liner in half and then sewed it back, so that there was a seam on opposite sides...this was cut with a seam ripper to get the cord in. The fleece is more forgiving about sewing the circle to the walls than the cotton.
