The Husky socks are done! My dad's birthday was yesterday, but we won't be seeing my parents until maybe next weekend or the weekend after, so it's okay that they're a little late. I think I'll probably go a little nuts when I return to sock yarn, because it won't go this quickly! Socks in DK weight = love. I really like this yarn, too. It's merino and very soft, even while knitting. I haven't washed them yet, but will give them a bath and dry before giving them to my dad. The yarn went further than I was expecting, too. 250 yards and a size ~11 men's foot, I thought I might end up with ankle socks. I'm glad I made the effort to figure out doing them toe-up, it wasn't that bad at all. And I know it'll come in very handy whenever I am doubtful about how much yarn I have for a pair of socks.

(Sorry about the cloudy-day photos, it's raining...)

This is why I'm afraid to ever knit socks with yarn heavier than fingering weight -- I'm afraid I'll never go back!
They look great -- I love the idea of incorporating school colors into handknits.
