FO: Kid socks #1

Kid socks #1 are done! I made these targeting C's size (almost 7), figuring that if they came out too small, J (almost 4) would get them instead. Then I'd just knit another pair for the non-socked kid. They did end up fitting C best, so I'll make some slightly smaller for J next. Already cast on! These socks only took 40g of a 100g ball, so I'll be able to get a smaller pair out of the ball plus some left over. Love kid socks!

Of course, after having a try-on session this morning, J insisted on wearing them to preschool. He was so happy he was literally dancing around in them. They seemed to be just slightly long when I first put them on, but when I took his shoes off this evening, the toes were folded up. Yep, too big for him. I'll try to hurry his along so that he doesn't have to wait to have his own.

Here they are, first on C (he wanted to show the bottoms), then on J:

Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Magico, color 2526 "Browns"
Pattern: Toe-up to 52 stitches, 2x2 rib on top of foot and around leg, short-row heel, stretchy sewn cuff.
Needles: US1 for all except US0 for about 1" of the 2x2 ribbing at the cuff.

J's first sock will be my TV knitting tonight!

I love being able to get more than one pair of socks per skein! And kid socks are always cuter than grown up socks. :)
